Dear WREC Family,
I hope this communication finds you in good health and making the best of what is a
challenging situation for all of us. I know I speak for our entire WREC staff in saying that we
miss seeing all of the students and are very much looking forward to re-connecting (albeit
online) with them next week. With that in mind, I’m asking you to watch today for a
communication from your student’s grade level team. That communication will provide specific directions and information regarding how our programming will start on Monday, March 30th and will continue to move forward.
The general expectation is that starting Monday, ALL WREC students and families are patched into the educational resources outlined in that teacher communication and following those specific grade-level instructions to reconnect with their teachers and their grade level
curriculum. The teachers have worked very hard this past week to prepare for this type of
instructional programming. Teachers will make themselves available to communicate with
students via email or other means from 10:00am -12:00pm and from 1:00pm to 3:00pm every school day. There will be questions and issues that arise along the way, as it is a new process for all of us. I’m confident that we will all work well together to ensure continuity of learning for our students. It’s important that we continue to communicate well and when needed, have patience with the overall process.
If your child receives special education services, you will be contacted by their special education case manager and/or special education teacher. The special education department will be providing your child with some, if not all, of their specially designed instruction and related services. This instruction will be developed on an individualized basis and will be communicated to you within the next week.
